Citroen is starting a new chapter in company history with the 2009 Geneva motor show, as it celebrates 90 years of the double chevron and shows off a restyled symbol for the brand. As part of the program for 2009, Citroen will also reintroduce an historical name like DS to its range.
In the past this car has symbolised cutting edge technology and design thanks to a futuristic model that was made from 1955 to 1975. Based on the C3, C4 and C5 models, further parallel models will be made, characterised by new design and technology, and luxury finishes.
The first example will be the DS3, a concept car to be presented at the Geneva show, destined for the market come 2011. During the course of that year, the DS4 and DS5 will also be revealed.
New details regarding this project will be released in the next few days when we can better understand the Citroen project. The render above is taken from Autoblog.nl and appears to be more an exercise in style than a realistic representation of the future DS5. Whatever the case, Citroen fans will be enthusiastic.
